yesterday (Saturday 15th of May)

All pilots completed a 20th round in medium to strong condition at St
Ferriol. Both groups were flying in sequence on Slope A. Then we had an
interruption to calculate the final team result and the ranking in order
to determine the 20 best pilots to do a fly off of 4 rounds. During this
interruption, a mini contest with the judges and officials has been
organised, with 2 rounds. the pilots wrer judging this time :) !
Marcel Guwang, a Slope director did the best time with a 33.xx

We started the fly off with strong conditions (16 to 20 m/s of wind). It
has been a "rain" of sub 40s, lots of personnal best and a blistering
30,79s for Thibaud Ringenbach (France). IS the ranking didn't change for
the top 3, things moved behind with excellent finish of Lucas Gaubatz
(17 to 9) or Mathieu Mervelet (14 to 8).

Alexis Marechal exploded his Alliaj HM on the ridge (rocks) during the
second round of the fly off. At the 24th round, Thibaud Ringenback had a
2.4 receiver lock for long seconds, but finally recovered despite he got
a zero score plus a penalty for crossing the safety line.

Viking Race finished at 3:30 pm. We all met at St ferriol for the prize
giving and a last drink before to leave.

Viking Race 2010 is over !

Thanks to all the pilots who attended, a huge thanks to the "red"
jackets who did an exceptionnal job during all the week despite
difficult weather conditions.

See you all in 2 years !!!

section with individual and team results.

You can access right now live streaming of the slope A. Enjoy.

2 rounds today

The weather was promising but ....
When we arrived on the slope around 10 am, the wind was here, the sun and blue sky too. But rapidly the wind changed of direction and dropped, which complicated things a lot. We have been able to complete 2 rounds.

There is a protest after round 9. This protest will be examinated by the jury. It could have an impact on round 9, depending of the decision.

Tomorrow forecast is rain. Briefing will be at the HQ in Limoux for the team managers before to take the decision to go or not go to the slope.

No pictures today, sorry.

No Round today :(

The wind decided to not wake up today, so we ended the day at 5pm with a
briefing. Earlier in the afternoon, we organized a small informal F3F
competition with few Merlin from MPX. Best time was 47 s. Tomorrow, the
wind is switching to St Ferriol. The apointment is 10 am at the parking
identified on the map for St Ferriol slope.

God of slope

We are preparing the 2011 calendar.... May will be the following........

Monday, 2PM

Sky is clear, sun is shining. Still little wind so free flight is continuing. We hope to launch one round.

Monday 10th, 11AM STATUS

This morning, fog at 8am clearing slowly to now offer clear view and some sun. Wind is too low (2m/s) so decision has been made to open free flight. Hopefully we will get some more wind and be able to launch at least the 8th round.

dimanche 9 mai 2010

today

After the rain stopped and the sky cleared a little bit, we started
arount 10:30 to complete the 2 rounds to finish the "set of round" 2+2,
before to compute the results and redo the groups. The target was then
to complete 2+2 rounds but unfortunately, the storm and rain stop the
8th round before the end.

So we are at 7 rounds, with one round to complete before to have and
even number of round, which means same number of round on slope A and B.

Please refer to result section.

We also uploaded new pictures in the picture gallery.

Tomorrow is Laurac again. First flight at 9 AM.

strong wind and rain at laurac

We arrived on the slope at 8 AM. The wind is strong but the rain and
clouds prevent us to start. According to the forecast, the weather
should clear during the day.
